The Mendocino Build Part 3 - Sub Floor Insulation
The easiest way to install sub floor insulation is to do it before the floor sheeting goes on. Once the floor joists are in place and the rough plumbing and electrical has been inspected, you can apply a plastic mesh over the joists and position the insulation.
This first pic shows the plastic mesh that is draped over the floor joists.
The insulation bats are placed on the mesh and are adjusted so that the mesh holds them in place without crushing the fibers so that you have the full R value.
Next the OSB floor sheeting will be installed and the sub floor is complete!
