The Mendocino Build Part 4 - Sub Floor Sheeting

Just a quick post today to show how the 4 X 8 sub floor sheeting is installed.  Note that it is tongue and grove so they fit together firmly and the edges have a blue primer on it that helps resist water damage and swelling.

The Mendocino Build Part 3 - Sub Floor Insulation

The easiest way to install sub floor insulation is to do it before the floor sheeting goes on.  Once the floor joists are in place and the rough plumbing and electrical has been inspected, you can apply a plastic mesh over the joists and position the insulation.

The Mendocino Build Part 2- Floor Joists

Step 2 of building the Mendocino plan involves placing the flloor joists across the treated mud sill that are on the foundation.  Here we see the TGI floor joists positioned 16 inches on center and attached to the mud sill. Some cross bracing has also been installed.

The Mendocino Build Part 1- Foundation

Follow the progress as we build a MENDOCINO HOUSE PACKAGE from PMHI in Twain Harte, CA  just above Sonora on Hwy 108.  Today we have the foundation footings and stem walls poured and are getting them ready for the wood subfloor.  In the picture, you can see the pressure treated "mud sill" have been installed.
